About Us
Strive Tuition is a dedicated tuition service designed to support children in reaching their full potential—both academically and personally. We offer small group sessions led by fully qualified teachers, with a particular focus on preparing students for the Medway Test (11+).
Tutors
All our tutors are experienced, fully qualified teachers with current DBS checks. They bring a wealth of expertise, a passion for education, and a deep understanding of the curriculum. Our Tuition Co-ordinator is Crystal Powell, a Medway-based educator with nearly a decade of experience in upper Key Stage 2 education.
Students
We currently specialise in tuition for Year 5 students, particularly those preparing for the Medway Test (11+). However, our focus on confidence, skills, and core subject knowledge supports all learners—regardless of their test goals. We are also considering expanding to include Year 4 students.
Teaching
We offer small group tuition, with a maximum of eight students per class. This allows for personal attention while also encouraging peer learning and confidence-building in a collaborative setting.
Programme
Our structured Medway Test (11+) programme covers Maths, English, and Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Lessons alternate weekly between English/Reasoning and Maths/Reasoning. We also offer tailored revision resources and regular assessments to track progress.
Sessions
Each session lasts one hour and takes place weekly during Medway school term time.
We'll send home the work covered in the missed session. Your child can complete it independently and return it the following week for marking and feedback.
Resources
Yes! Students receive access to a personalised learning area, which includes revision resources and structured materials to reinforce learning at home. These may include electronic versions of classroom handouts and additional support tools—not full practice papers.
Assessment
Yes. We run mock tests and revision workshops during the Easter and Summer holidays to give students real exam experience. Dates will be published on the website in advance.
Joining
No pre-assessment is needed. We believe every child deserves a chance to succeed from day one. We conduct early progress reviews after six and 12 weeks to ensure students are on track.
Pricing
Sessions are just £20 each, paid termly in advance via our secure online booking system. Visit our Fee Schedule to view payment dates and full terms.
